Longtime Juneau resident Linda Sue Morris (London) died Nov. 14, 2008, in Juneau. She was 59.
Born July 27, 1949, in Klawock, to Daniel and Priscilla Kahklen, she moved with her parents to Juneau in March 1954.
According to her family, she was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed beading and creating Native art.
"To my wife, our mother and grandmother, you were the strongest woman anyone could meet," her husband said. "You taught us strength and courage. We love you and will miss you very much. We will have you in all of our hearts forever. God bless."
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Terry, Butch, Bruce and Bernard Kahklen.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, John C. Morris Sr., of Juneau; daughter, Tammy Sue Mercer-Vasofski, of Eagle River; son, "Tucker" John C. Morris Jr. and wife, Melody Morris, of Juneau; grandchildren, Christopher Kahklen, Michael Friedrichs and Nicholas Friedrichs, of Eagle River, and Samantha, Bryson and Jennaya Morris, of Juneau; sisters, Lillian Arnett, of Anchorage, Janice Kahklen, of Juneau, Suzanne Christiansen, of Anchorage, Karen Kahklen, of Texas, and Dani Soosuk, of Anchorage; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Gruening Park Recreation Hall, 1800 Northwood Drive.
