Juneau-Douglas High School wrestling meet - The Juneau-Douglas High School wrestling team hosts the Brandon Pilot Invitational in the high school's main gym. Competition is expected to begin Friday evening between 6:30 and 7 p.m. On Saturday, matches will start at about 10 a.m. and last all day, with midday and dinner breaks. Finals will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Juneau Gun Club Thankgiving Turkey Shoot - The annual Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Juneau Gun Club on Montana Creek Road. Events include bubble shoot, card shoot, trap and Annie Oakley. There will also be youth activities. No shooting skills necessary to participate; loaner shotguns are available and ammo will be provided. Full-time safety officers will be present. Gastineau Channel Little League board meeting - The GCLL board of directors will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 101 of Floyd Dryden Middle School. The meeting will focus on continued planning for the 2003 season. Meetings are open to the public.
Eaglecrest Ski Area season passes - Discounted season passes for Eaglecrest Ski Area are available if purchased before Sunday, Dec. 1. The 2002-03 preseason pass prices, not including tax, are $375 for adults, $255 for youth (grades 7-12), $255 for seniors (age 65-older), $180 for child (grades K-6), $189.52 for midweek and $500 for corporate. Eaglecrest staff members will be at the Nugget Mall on weekends and holidays through the end of November selling passes, or you can stop by the business office at the Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation office (Room 218) at the Municipal Building, downtown. Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation youth indoor soccer registration - Registration is open from Nov. 12-25 for the 2003 season, which starts in early January and runs through mid-March. Forms can be picked up at the Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation office downtown or at the Zach Gordon Youth Center. Registration forms can also be downloaded off the Parks and Rec Web site at http://www.juneau.org/parksrec/ (follow the links to the youth sports page and to the youth indoor soccer page). Holiday Cup Competitive Indoor Soccer Tournament registration - Holiday Cup 2002 will be held Dec. 21-31. There will be four coed divisions: Elementary (grades 4-5), Middle School, Junior (high schoolers ages 16 and under) and Open (ages 17-21). Coaches and managers interested in sponsoring a team must submit a roster by Nov. 27. Electronic versions of the registration packet are available. Juneau Soccer Club registration - The Juneau Soccer Club is registering players in grade 4 and 5 for the 2002-03 season. Membership includes weekly skills development and training sessions, special weekly skills clinics and goalkeeping clinics. Players are trained by licensed coaches in gender-specific settings. Intro to Tennis classes - JRC/The Alaska Club will be holding classes for adults and kids starting in December. The adult class will start at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Valley location. It is open to anyone interested in learning the basics of tennis, and all equipment is provided. The kids class will be held at noon on Dec. 14, and all equipment is provided. High-power rifle clinic - Ron Fleishhacher of the Alaska Army National Guard in Anchorage will give a clinic on NRA high-power rifle shooting on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the second floor of RAYCO Sales, 8371 Old Dairy Road. Fleishhacher has been the Alaska State and Alaska NRA Regional Rifle Champion eight of the last 10 years. The clinic is open to all interested rifle shooters.
