Methinks Matt Koepple doth protest too much.
He urges people in his letter to editor (Nov. 18) not to listen to their neighbors', co-workers' and friends' opinions about a road north out of Juneau. Perhaps he should follow his own advice about getting all the facts before "opining."
DOT is unbiased and nonpolitical? Not hardly. Koepple himself is a DOT employee.
A road doesn't affect wildlife and the environment? Get real, Matt.
New ferries are expensive? Of course they are, but several can be built and run for the cost of a road when all is said and done. Meanwhile, it is a fact that ferries are already built, paid for and now running.
We have far greater needs for the money than a road to benefit tourists who are already impacting our lives far more than is healthy for our community.
