Messings to celebrate 50th Saturday

On Nov. 21, 1953, LeRoy Messing married Jean Murray at the Smith Corners Holy Trinity Church in Bad Axe, Mich. The Messings and their eight children arrived in Juneau in 1965. Later, five more children were born. LeRoy worked several years as a correctional officer for the State Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1982. It's a casual attire event and the couple has requested no gifts, please. It will be held at the Juneau Yacht Club from 2:30 to 8 p.m. LeRoy and Jean will renew their wedding vows at 3 p.m. with Father Tony Dummer, pastor from St. Paul's Catholic Church.
