Clear the streets so the streets can be cleared

Sound off on the important issues at

The CBJ Public Works/Streets Division has begun snow removal from Juneau streets. Removal areas will be marked with yellow "No parking" signs 12 hours prior to operations.

Cars remaining on the street will be ticketed and towed to the Juneau Yacht Club parking lot.

Please make sure all vehicles are parked properly as this will speed up snow removal efforts and allow plow operators to widen the roads for safety. The Streets Division will not have time to return to roads blocked by improperly parked cars.

Also, remember not to dump snow into the street. Any area that cannot be enetered safely due to too many obsticles will be skipped.

Downtown garage offers four free hours

Effective Friday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Dec. 29 the City and Borough will offer up to four hours of free parking in the coin-op spaces at the Marine Parking Garage. This is to facilitate people visiting the downtown area during the holiday shopping season. Permit spaces will still require CBJ issued permits visible in the vehicle. Vehicles illegaly parked will be subject to towing at the owner's expense.
