Oregon State sophomore and 2007 JDHS graduate Talisa Rhea was named the Pacific 10 Conference's first player of the week this season after hitting a conference-record 10 three-pointers Sunday as the Beavers crushed Sacramento State 100-45 at home.
Rhea's record-setting 10th bomb late in the fourth gave the Beavers their 100th point of the night, marking the team's first voyage into triple digits since 2003. Her 19 attempts on the night also set a new conference record, as Rhea gunned her way to a career-high 42 points - the fourth-most in OSU history.
"All of the credit goes to my teammates for getting me open, giving me the ball, and I was just in the right place and was able to hit a couple of shots," Rhea said on Oregon State's Web site, www.osubeavers.com. "We were just running our offense, trying to execute, working on the little things we have been working on in practice and there is still room for improvement. We still have to fix up a few things, but my teammates did a good job of giving me the ball."
Stanford's Molly Goodenbour set the last conference mark at nine three-pointers in a 1992 game against Tennessee.
