ANCHORAGE - A 42-year-old Kenai man is facing drug and firearm charges.

A federal grand jury has indicted Edward Douglas Brighton on methamphetamine and firearm charges.

The indictment says that Brighton in February intended to distribute 50 or more grams of a mixture of methamphetamine and morphine, and that he possessed a handgun in order to carry out the crime.

If convicted of the drug offense, Brighton could be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison and fined $2 million. The firearm charge could add to the sentence.
