Here I am, writing another letter, something I do not do that often. I consider this a sequel to the letter I wrote a short while ago regarding dangerous driving habits.
A few mornings ago on the way to work, an incident happened at the entrance to the Department of Transportation Maintenance Station. I hope you are reading this - the individual with the white pickup truck. Aren't we lucky there were no vehicles coming from the opposite direction and I was able to go around you - just!
Unfortunately, my vehicle horn was not working, but it wouldn't have helped the situation anyway. You never looked in my direction before you pulled out onto the highway!
Don't you know you are to look in both directions before you pull out?
I was going the proper speed limit for the area (between 40 and 45 mph). Even jamming my brakes on would not have helped either of us. We both would have been seriously injured or dead as I was that close to you when you pulled out.
I try to be a safe driver. Perhaps people need to take a safe driving test from time to time or read through the Drivers' Manual to jog their memory on proper procedures and driving.
