The 4-H program will start a new 4-H pets club.at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Floyd Dryden Middle School. The club will be led by Becky Hinmanof the Gastineau Humane Society.
Club members will meet in local schools as well as at the Humane Society. Youth must be in grades 3-12 to join this club. The cost of 4-H membership is $6 and can be brought to the first club meeting. The program is a joint effort of the Cooperative Extension Service and Gastineau Humane Society. Youth who do not have pets or cannot have pets but would like to learn more about pets are welcome. Hands on time at the Gastineau Humane Society will help youth learn about the many different types of pets as well as how to feed, groom and take care of them.
