Longtime Juneau resident Gleceria Calbonero Lumba died Nov. 19, 2007, surrounded by her daughters, sons and friends. She was 79.

She was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Leyte, Philippines, to the late Policarpa Bote and Hilarion Calbonero.
She was a lifetime member of the Filipino community in Juneau and a volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club in Juneau.
She liked to cook, play bingo and quilt with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Candido A. Lumba; and sister, Zosima Estremos.
She is survived by her daughters, Suspinea Plaras and her husband, Gregorio, of Cebu City, Philippines, Victoria Lumba and her husband, of Ormoc City, Philippines, Angelita Moron, of Ormoc City, Lolita Lumba, of Juneau, and Charito Santos and her husband, Danilo, of Melborne, Australia; sons, Candido Lumba Jr., and his wife, Nelda, of Juneau, Bernardo "Jesus" Lumba and his wife, Cristina, of Arkansas, and Renapo Lumba and his wife, Jocelyn, of Juneau; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary. Mass will be at noon Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Reception will follow after the burial in St. Paul's Hall.
