JUNEAU - Tim Doebler, director of the University of Alaska Anchorage Culinary Arts/Hospitality Program, visited Juneau last week to meet with the Juneau School District to finalize a Tech Prep agreement, so that Culinary Arts I and II and Nutrition high school culinary classes will be offered by Thunder Mountain High School's Culinary Arts teacher Kathleen Wiest.
The classes are aligned with the university courses in UAA's Culinary program. This agreement enables high school students in these courses to earn both high school and UAA credits at the same time and at a discounted rate.
