ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police say a sport utility vehicle drifted into an oncoming lane and collided with a police cruiser, injuring both drivers.

Police Lt. Dave Parker tells the Anchorage Daily News that the crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. Saturday at East 15th and Sitka Street.

A passer-by called 911 to report that Officer Keo Fujimoto was hurt and knocked unconscious.

Parker says hospital staff monitored Fujimoto throughout Saturday and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The other driver was treated at the hospital and released.

Parker says no citations have been issued but an investigation is ongoing.
