NONDALTON - A 41-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and felony assault for knife attacks on two women in the village of Nondalton.

Eugene Wilson was arrested Thursday and transported to Bristol Bay Borough Detention Facility in King Salmon.

Both victims were flown to Anchorage for treatment.

Alaska State Troopers say that while officers were in the village, members of the community reported that an armed, intoxicated man was walking the streets looking for the assault suspect.

Troopers arrested 40-year-old George Koktelash Jr. He's charged with weapons misconduct.

He also was jailed at the Bristol Bay Borough Detention Facility.

Nondalton is a village of 186 on the west shore of Six Mile Lake, between Lake Clark and Iliamna Lake about 190 miles southwest of Anchorage.
