FAIRBANKS - A 49-year-old Fairbanks man has been charged with stabbing his sister in the chest with a 12-inch kitchen knife.

Abraham Henry was jailed Saturday night at Fairbanks Correctional Center. He's charged with felony assault.

Alaska State Troopers took a call on the incident in west Fairbanks just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The injured woman fled the home to a neighboring apartment and sought help.

Troopers arrived and confronted Abraham, who was holding a 12-inch kitchen knife in each hand. Troopers say he taunted officers and challenged them to kill him.

He was taken into custody.

The injured woman's condition was reported as stable.
