Around Town

Celebrating the season with outdoor decorating
Colors that were taken for granted, shapes that were masked by foliage and shadowy images filtered through branches are newly appreciated. This long, warm fall has us enthralled; we see things we've forgotten in shorter, quicker weather changes. Margaret and I have Christmas Roses blooming for the first time; these Hellebores have lived through winters before, but never were able to set bud and bloom. The robust coloring of the petals belies the delicate form of the blossom and the glossy, tough leaves.
