Judgments

In Hoonah District Court, Samuel J. Willard Sr., 46, was found guilty of fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons stemming from an offense of July 18, 2000. Magistrate Joyce Skaflestad sentenced him to five days in jail, to pay a fine (amount not given) and noted that all other terms and conditions of probation in the original judgment remain in effect. Jail time was consecutive to time in another case (see following). Willard was also found guilty of harassment stemming from an offense of Aug. 26. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, to pay a surcharge of $50, to contact the Hoonah Medical Center for an appointment for alcohol screening and comply with any recommendations for alcohol counseling. He was given credit for time served.

In Juneau Superior Court, Michelle A. Greinier, 36, appeared for judgment and disposition revoking probation before Superior Court Judge Larry Weeks. Greiner was found guilty of first-degree hindering of prosecution stemming from an offense of Sept. 16, 1998. She was ordered to serve nine months in jail, consecutive to the sentence imposed in 1JU-S01-1173Cr. The composite sentence is one year in jail, with credit for time served. During three years of probation, she was to seek and maintain employment as approved by her probation officer; obey the conditions of probation; not associate with convicted felons; not possess firearms or deadly weapons; participate in and comply with the conditions of a therapeutic psychological/psychiatric counseling program at the request of the PO; not possess or consume any intoxicating liquor and not enter any establishment which has as its primary purpose the sale of intoxicating liquor; not use or possess marijuana or any illegal drug; be subject to search; and report any use of prescription medicine to the PO within 24 hours with any prescription.

Joseph A. Allen, 29, was found guilty of first-degree criminal trespass stemming from an offense of Aug. 2. Judge Patricia A. Collins sentenced him to 9 months in jail with 3 months suspended. Allen was ordered to pay a $50 surcharge and placed on probation for one year. He was ordered to have no contact with his victims or their residence. Allen was also found guilty of two counts of fourth-degree assault. Collins sentenced him to six months in jail, to be served consecutive to other time. He was placed on probation for one year. He was additionally found guilty of giving false information. Collins suspended a 30-day sentence. And he was found guilty of failure to appear stemming from an offense of July 24. Collins ordered a $50 surcharge. He was found guilty of a charge of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Nov. 16. Collins ordered him to enroll in, pay for and complete substance-abuse treatment with the Juneau Alcohol Safety Activity Program and any treatment recommended.

Garry R. Miller was found guilty of assault stemming from an offense of Nov. 5. Judge Peter B. Froehlich committed him to 10 days in jail and ordered him to pay a $50 surcharge and $371 cost of incarceration.

Derek H. Goodman, 27, was found guilty of disorderly conduct stemming from an offense of Aug. 20. Froehlich ordered him to spend 30 days in jail, to pay a $50 surcharge and to pay $1,000 cost of incarceration.

Marilyn C. Charlie, 52, was found guilty of larceny of money or property stemming from an offense of Nov. 8. Froehlich ordered her not to go to Alaskan & Proud grocery, placed her on probation for one year, and ordered her to pay a $50 surcharge or satisfy it with Community Work Service.

John M. Beakley, 22, of Craig, was found guilty of disorderly conduct stemming from an offense of Nov. 16. Froehlich sentenced him to 20 days in jail; to JASAP; to pay a $50 surcharge; to pay $742 cost of incarceration with his Permanent Fund dividend only; placed him on probation for two years; and ordered him not to consume or possess alcohol or drugs or go where sold or served.

Angela R. Alexander, 30, was found guilty of disorderly conduct stemming from an offense of Nov. 6. Froehlich imposed a fine of $300; a $50 surcharge; ordered her to enroll in, pay for and complete the alternatives to violence course with the Tongass Community Counseling Center; and placed her on probation for one year.

Scott A. Thistle, 37, of Auke Bay, was found guilty of failure to register. Froehlich sentenced him to 35 days in jail; and to pay a $50 surcharge or do equivalent CWS.

Craig A. Klawitter, 39, was found guilty of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Nov. 19. Froehlich committed him to 15 days in jail. All fines, JASAP and probation were waived. However, he was ordered to pay $530 cost of incarceration with PFD only.

Jack W. Maloney, 40, of Auke Bay, was charged with assault but the charge was dismissed. However, Maloney was found guilty of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of July 3. Froehlich imposed a fine of $250; committed him to six days in jail; ordered JASAP; two years probation; not to consume or possess alcohol or enter where sold or served.

A charge of violating conditions of release against Rowena J. Reeves was dismissed. A charge of criminal mischief was also dismissed. However, Reeves was found guilty of assault stemming from an offense of Sept. 19. Froehlich fined her $250; committed her to five days in jail; placed her on probation for one year; ordered her to pay a $50 surcharge; $159 cost of incarceration; and to complete TCCC alternative to violence classes.

James C. Cole, 34, was found guilty of three counts of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Aug. 1. Froehlich placed him on probation for two years and ordered him to commit no criminal violations during that period. Cole was ordered to pay old fines and surcharges and comply with JAMI and JASAP. A charge of resisting/interfering with a police officer was dismissed. Cole was found guilty of disorderly conduct stemming from an offense of July 3. He was ordered to serve 10 days in jail. A charge of harassment was dismissed. He was found guilty of resisting arrest/interfering with an officer stemming from an offense of July 3. Froehlich sentenced him to 30 days in jail; JASAP; a $50 surcharge; and one year probation. A charge of assault/physical menace was dismissed.

Dell L. Casidsid, 26, was found guilty of drunken driving stemming from an offense of Oct. 5. Froehlich fined him $500 with $250 suspended; committed him to 45 days in jail with 35 days suspended; revoked his license for 90 days; ordered him to JASAP; placed him on probation for one year; ordered him to pay a $50 surcharge and a $630 incarceration fee. A charge of refusing to submit to a chemical test was dismissed. He was found guilty of driving while license cancelled/suspended/revoked/limited. Froehlich sentenced him to 10 days in jail; and revocation of his license for 90 days.

Shawn T. Beaird, 19, was found guilty of driving while license cancelled/suspended/revoked/limited stemming from an offense of Nov. 2. Froehlich fined him $200; ordered his license revoked for 90 days; placed him on probation for one year; $50 surcharge; document and complete 80 hours CWS by Jan. 25.

Marcia Gordon, 19, of Sitka, was found guilty of driving while license was cancelled/suspended/revoked/limited stemming from an offense of Nov. 12. Froehlich fined her $250; committed her to 15 days in jail; revoked license for 90 days; placed her on probation for one year; ordered her to pay a $50 surcharge.

Logan W. Rosson, 18, was found guilty of driving with no valid operator's license stemming from an offense of Nov. 6. Froehlich suspended imposition of sentence and placed him on probation for one year. He was to be fingerprinted, pay a fine of $100 plus a surcharge of $50.

Stephanie M. Butler, 19, was found guilty of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Nov. 15. Froehlich fined her $100; placed her on probation for one year.

Christina K. Wigg, 17, was found guilty of drunken driving and of driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.99 percent stemming from an offense of Nov. 11. Froehlich fined her $250; committed her to three days at Johnson Youth Center; revoked her license for 90 days; ordered JASAP; $75 surcharge; $270 incarceration fee; earn diploma by June 1, 2002. She was allowed to perform CWS in lieu of the fine.

Glenn A. Stuart, 47, was found guilty of two counts of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Nov. 15. Froehlich ordered him to pay his original fines of $250; sentenced him to a total of six days in jail; JASAP; two years probation; do not consume alcohol; pay original surcharge of $50 within 10 days. Stuart was to complete classes at Child Care & Family Resource Center.

James L. Wilson, 20, was found guilty of fourth-degree attempted misconduct attempting a controlled substance stemming from an offense of May 20. Judge Patricia A. Collins suspended imposition of sentence and placed him on probation for one year; JASAP; and $50 surcharge.

Mary A. Stuart, 47, was found guilty of granting of probation/revoke or modify stemming from an offense of Nov. 15. Froehlich sentenced her to one day in jail; JASAP; probation of one year.

Aaron J. St. Clair, 18, was indicted by a grand jury in Juneau Superior Court on one charge of second-degree burglary and one count of fourth-degree assault, both stemming from alleged incidents on or about Nov. 12.

Jerald J. Hinchman Jr., 23, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of second-degree sexual assault stemming from an alleged incident on or about Nov. 10 at or near Juneau with a person he knew was incapacitated.

Mathew R. Mielke, 18, of Douglas, was found guilty of failure to stop stemming from an offense of Aug. 16. Judge Larry R. Weeks committed him to 30 days in jail; revoked license for 30 days; JASAP; $50 surcharge; probation for 18 months; go through a driver training course within 60 days of release. Mielke was also found guilty of reckless driving. Weeks sentenced him to 60 days in jail with 30 suspended; to JASAP; and placed him on probation for 18 months. "Suspended time is consecutive," Weeks ruled.
