Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• An ashtray full of coins and a book were reported stolen at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday from an unlocked 1993 Ford Taurus in the 600 block of West 12th Street downtown.


• At 1:17 p.m. Monday, a 1994 Honda was reported vandalized on Teal Street near Juneau International Airport. Damage was reported outside to the passenger-side mirror and inside to the rearview mirror, a speaker grill and a radio faceplate.

• Two aluminum grandstands were reported vandalized at 3:58 p.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Riverside Drive in the Mendenhall Valley.

Vehicle accidents:

• Police impounded a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, whose driver left the scene and is unknown, at 5:07 p.m. Monday on Egan Drive at Vanderbilt Hill Road after it reported struck a 1999 Fiat in the rear.

• A backhoe driven by a 40-year-old man at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday reportedly struck the side of a bridge in the 1300 block of West Ninth Street downtown, causing an estimated $50 in damage to a hydraulic line.

Hit and run:

• At 2:27 p.m. Monday, a 2002 Mitsubishi was reported struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in the 2100 block of Lawson Creek Road in the Douglas area. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
