Tennis players double their fun at annual autumn tournament

Carandang and Brooks rally to win men's title

The duo of Dream Suchitbharapitya and Diane Antaya won the women's JRC/The Alaska Club Fall Doubles Tennis Tournament on Sunday with a perfect round-robin record of 3-0.

Suchitbharapitya and Antaya upended second-place Lyndsey Kelly and Pam Couzin to win the title.

In the men's open division, Bong Carandang and Lewis Brooks defeated George Crowder and Garold Larue 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (7) for the title.

Mimi Walker and Larue joined forces to win the mixed open title. The duo defeated Annie Kincheloe and Lewis Brooks 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (5) for first place.

In the mixed 'A' division, Beatrice Franklin and Bryan Crowder won the round robin format title with a 2-1 record. Sue Kraft and Art Dee took second place.

Vicki Wilcox and Steffan Wilcox won the mixed 'B' division wit a 2-1 record, nipping second place Ginger Blaisdell and Sam Thomas.

In men's 'B' division action, the team of Jim Richardson and Bill McAllister won the title with a 2-1 round robin record. Bruce Baird and Sam Thomas also finished 2-1 to take second place.
