Quanitta Chup

Grade: First.
School: Harborview Elementary School.
Art of choice: Drawing and painting.
Reason: "I like to draw, it's fun. I like to paint because it has all kinds of colors. But if I have no paint, I draw."
All in the family: "My sister draws and I liked to copy her when I was 1."
Her teacher, Patty Winegar, says: "Quanitta loves art. She draws whenever she has a spare minute. Her stories always have detailed illustrations. Her art is colorful and bright. Quanitta tries new strategies. She is eager to share her techniques with her friends. She uses a variety of materials including pencils, watercolors, tempera, markers or crayons in her art. Quanitta is so cheerful. We have a new student from the Philippines with limited English. She has been a good friend to and has helped her understand our classroom."
