Marijuana discovered at Anchorage house fire

Posted: Tuesday, November 23, 2010

ANCHORAGE - Firefighters putting out a chimney fire in Anchorage discovered several marijuana plants, which were seized by police.

One renter of the Midtown house told KTUU she was growing the marijuana for herself for medical reasons, but does not have a medical marijuana card. No one was arrested. Police are still investigating.

The renters and their pet cats escaped the burning house Sunday, but the fire killed three boa constrictor snakes.
