Thank you, Juneau, for snow removal

In the 26 years I lived here, time and again the city of Juneau road crew has done a great job. I can only imagine the huge job of trying to keep up with 3-plus feet of snow fall. I, for one, am amazed at how well the road crews do. Not only do they have to plow the roads, they have to cart off the snow piles and dispose of them in the ocean. I have always been impressed that they are able to do as much as they do. I live on a little cul-de-sac, so my street is one of the last to get plowed. Nevertheless, I understand the priorities and appreciate all of the hard work these guys do to accomplish what they do. I applaud them.

And I have been remiss for not sending a big thank-you for two winters ago. My daughter had started labor but was not ready for the hospital yet. My son-in-law called the city of Juneau road crew and told them that it was not imminent, but that if they could get to our road sometime in the next few hours we would appreciate it. Two big graters came out and cleaned our street all the way to Riverside. And, yes we did make it to the hospital in time and all is well. I apologize for not thanking them sooner, but with our first two grandbabies in one year I got a little distracted.

I appreciate you guys and all you do. Hang in there, and know that some of us really appreciate all those extra hours you put it.
