Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Driving while intoxicated:

• Norman Niemi, 63, was arrested for drunken driving at 2:48 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway and Jordan Avenue. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Hit and run:

• A 59 year-old man reported that his Honda Pilot had been struck by an unknown vehicle at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday near the 8000 block of Glacier Highway. Damages were estimated at $1,000.

• Police received a report 5:22 p.m. Wednesday about damage to a 1999 Chevy near the 400 block of Kennedy Street. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

Minor consuming:

• A 17-year-old girl was issued a citation for minor consuming at 1:09 a.m. Thursday near the Mendenhall Loop Road and Dudley Street intersection. She was transported home.

• An 18-year-old woman was cited for minor consuming at 1:22 a.m. Thursday near the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road. She was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.
