FAIRBANKS - A fire at an Alaska housing complex forced an evacuation during one of the worst ice storms in Fairbanks history.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported there were no serious injuries in the Monday evening fire at Fairview Manor, which began in a third-floor apartment.
Fire officials said 24 apartments were evacuated, and some of the people were housed in hotels by the Red Cross of Alaska because the power was still off.
At least two people were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause was under investigation.
