Dartmouth enrolls two from Juneau

Kendri Marietta Marie Cesar, from Juneau, has enrolled as a member of the class of 2008 at Dartmouth College. Cesar is the daughter of Kenneth R. Cesar and Jacqueline S. Dailey.

Ephraim Demeksa Froehlich, from Juneau, has enrolled, as well, in the class of 2008 at Dartmouth College. Froehlich is the son of Peter B. Froehlich and Elsa F. Demeksa.

University creates scholarship

Texas Christian University has announced the establishment of a scholarship in memory of Sean McAlpine. McAlpine, the son of Stephen and Dana McAlpine of Anchorage, was a junior business major. He died in an automobile accident while at home during the summer break.

Ginter awarded Heritage scholarship from Denison Univ.

Jason Ginter, a Denison University student from Juneau is among those named as winners of the Heritage Scholarship. Ginter is the son of Jay and Jane Ginter of Juneau. He is a 2004 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School. The Heritage Scholarship is a half-tuition award and is renewable for four years.

Lorensen studies in Japan with Colgate

Carrie Lorensen, a junior at Colgate University in N.Y., is among 12 students who are spending the fall semester in Kyoto, Japan, with Yoichi Aizawa, Colgate associate professor of Japanese. Lorensen is the daughter of Mr. Ronald Lorensen of Juneau.
