JUNEAU - A grand jury indicted a 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman Wednesday on felony drug charges for allegedly shipping drugs to Juneau through the mail.

Jonathan J. Stein and Sherrilyn N. Morrow, both Juneau residents, were each charged with two felony drug counts and face up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Both have been lodged in the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and each are being held on $10,000 cash bail.

Stein and Morrow were arrested on Friday by Juneau Police Department officers after a package allegedly bound for them was intercepted by the Unites States Postal Inspection Service containing 499 methadone pills. Methadone, which can be highly addictive when used recreationally, is an opium-based narcotic that is typically used to treat people with heroin addictions.
