Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

A boy reported at 9:30 p.m. Monday from Glacier Avenue that his blue and black 21-speed Gary Fisher mountain bike, Yahoo model was stolen between 6 and 9:20 p.m.

Animal encounters:

A resident reported a small bear getting into some garbage cans at 4:12 a.m. today near Glacier Way. Two written warnings concerning garbage were issued.

Other:

A man turned in a red, 24-speed mountain bike at 1:48 p.m. Monday near McGinnis Drive. The police are holding it for safe-keeping.

A woman reported at 2:37 p.m. Monday from Glacier Highway that she lost her brown, checkbook-sized wallet around 10 p.m. Sunday night. The wallet contained ID, social security card, a birth certificate, car insurance and membership cards.
