Record-breaking Bears

The Juneau-Douglas girls' swimming and diving team set seven new school records this season.

How dominant is that? There are 12 total events in a standard swimming and diving meet, which means the Crimson Bears posted new records for more than half of the available events.

The following is a list of the new records:

200-yard medley relay

Kristin Jones, Lia Heifetz, Melissa Bogert, Amanda Jones 1:52.67

200-yard individual medley

Kristin Jones 2:11.54

100-yard butterfly

Melissa Bogert 57.56

500-yard freestyle

Kristin Jones 5:11.06

200-yard freestlye relay

Julia DiCostanzo, Sara Bogert, Jenna Rutecki, Amanda Jones 1:39.87

100-yard backstroke

Sara Bogert 1:00.85

400-yard freestyle relay

Sara Bogert, Julia DiCostanzo, Jenna Rutecki, Amber Kelly 3:39.15
