I, too, attended the tree lighting in Douglas on Friday evening and I am a dog owner who brought my dog. I would like to see the dog owners clean up after their dogs rather than having to leave the dogs at home. I would like to see that at events such as the tree lighting and how about every single day?
This is in response to the person who was grossed out by dog poop that their kid stepped in at the tree ceremony. It was not people from Douglas who let their dogs poop. People in Douglas are considerate and they do clean up their dogs' poop.
Between Friday afternoon, Nov. 17, and Monday morning, Nov. 20, a canvas tote bag containing exercise videos and a notebook was taken from the office in the Valley Senior Center located next to St. Paul's Catholic church. The group that meets there for exercise would like them back. Please set the bag just inside the main door of St. Paul's church.
I drive 55 miles an hour in the left-hand lane. People pass me on the right. I lie awake at night worrying about it.
Why aren't police stopping any of those one-eyed cars that are driving around?
I'd like to know when something's gonna be done about the way people drive in parking lots and park in parking lots. When are we going to get security in these lots or JPD to patrol them?
For people who do their business at the Douglas post office: The loading zone in front of the Fish and Game building is not a parking spot for you to go check your mail.
The bus system in Juneau is out of control. Twice this week I was almost hit by buses pulling back into traffic, twice I called to report this and twice I was told that the buses have the right-of-way. Have the CBJ or police department get this bus system under control.
For people who complain about the ragged flags flying over the Mendenhall post office: Why don't you go buy one and donate it to the vets of this town in their honor or to the Sullivan boys who got killed on the USS Juneau, instead of complain?
To whoever is decorating the Christmas tree across the highway from Fred Meyer, thank you very much. It makes me smile every time I drive by.
Thanks to the kind folks who decorated the beautiful little Christmas tree on the tidelands near Egan Drive across from the Bethel Assembly of God. What a nice, warm feeling.
I note that Christmas lights are being put up today in Marine Park. They are always beautiful and brighten up our spirits. Let's hope that nobody comes along and spoils this for us all this year.
I took my family to "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" this weekend and it was wonderful. I just can't understand why Juneau can't put on more shows that are perfect for adults and family members.
I just want to thank the bees of the world for honey.
