Third-grade students request postcards

A class of third-grade students in Gages Lake, Ill., would like to receive postcards from Juneau.

The class is working on a year-long project to learn more about the United States. Those who want to write the students should write about themselves. For example, tell them about your job and why you like living in Alaska. Describe the types of wildlife that live around Juneau. Also, people can send the students items that might help them learn about Alaska.

The information the class collects will be used in reading, math, science and social studies lessons. Graphing and writing are a big part of the third-grade curriculum.

Send postcards and letters to: Ms. K. Rudolph's Class, Woodland Elementary West School, 17371 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake, Ill., 60030.
