Juneau-Douglas High School students and Students Take Action Now Darfur members Leon Andree, right, and Lia Domke man a booth Friday, Nov. 23, at the Alaskan and Proud market. Their cause was gathering donations to donate to the Genocide Intervention Network's Civilian Protection Program in Darfur. Donators also were given the option of fasting on Dec. 5, while giving up a donation that would normally go to another expense, such as a meal at a fast-food restaurant. To pledge, students can go to JDHS Room 228 until Dec. 5. STAND members also are seeking volunteers to man their booth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Rainbow Foods.
