The City and Borough of Juneau has received draft flood maps and a flood insurance study that will replace the effective, out-dated ones. A public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Thunder Mountain High School library to discuss how this may affect the community and its residents. The meeting is open to the general public. In addition to CBJ staff, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be present to answer any questions about flood insurance, building in a flood plain or any other flood-related topics. If you cannot come to the meeting but would still like to submit comments or speak to someone about this topic, contact the CBJ Permit Center at 586-0715 or email@example.com.
