2 minor earthquakes hit Alaska

ANCHORAGE - Two minor earthquakes shook Alaska during the early Saturday morning hours.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 4.5 magnitude quake struck about 8 miles northwest of Happy Valley around 1:15 a.m. That earthquake had a depth of nearly 40 miles.

A second, weaker and shallower, 3.2 magnitude earthquake was also recorded in Denali National Park around 6 a.m. Saturday.
