Don't be afraid to get an unpaid internship after you graduate from college. "You'll find out if you like the job, and you'll get valuable feedback in your career planning," says Kathy Sanborn, a career coach in Sacramento, Calif. and author of "The Seasons of Your Career" (McGraw-Hill; $12.95).
