Juneau resident and former Sitka resident Cynthia Marie Phillips died Nov. 21, 2009, at home in Juneau. She was 19.
Born March 16, 1990, in Sitka, she was raised and lived in Juneau for most of her life. She was a full-time student.
"She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, friend, full-time student and a very proud mother to her only daughter," her family wrote.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Paul and Daisy Phillips, of Haines; grandmothers, Pauline Case, of Haines and Virginia Arnold, of Juneau; and uncle, Myron Moses Phillips, of Seattle, Wash.
She is survived by her parents, Richard Allen and Bobbie Jo Frances; sister, Janine Marina-Rose Phillips, of Haines; only daughter, Cassandra Dawn Phillips, of Juneau; grandparents, Henry Phillips, of Anchorage; Paulina Phillips, of Haines; Milton Phillips, of Anchorage; Darlene Austin, of Hoonah; and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.
Pallbearers are Raphael Lopez, Mark Light, David and Lorin Phillips, Brian Huntman, Kelly Wilson, Eva and Elijah Marks.
Honorary pallbearers are Paulina Phillips, Marilyn Wilson, Kathern Hotch, Julia Satterwhite, Mary Marks, Elsie Spud and Joe Hotch.
A memorial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Alaska Native Sisterhood/Brotherhood Hall in Haines.
