Police searching for missing 19-year-old

Posted: Sunday, November 29, 2009

KETCHIKAN - The Ketchikan Police Department is looking for a 19-year-old man who has been missing since Sunday.

Deputy Police Chief Josh Dossett said Michael Abt and his parents moved to Ketchikan earlier this month from Sitka. Abt vanished from an apartment the family has been living in while waiting to buy a house.

Dossett said Abt had no money or credit cards and there's no proof he got on a ferry.

The young man, however, did leave a note. Dossett said the message could be taken as a suicide note or a note he was leaving home.
