Seventh Annual Jingle Jog: Meet at 9 a.m. at Valley location of Juneau Racquet Club, race starts at 10 a.m. Race options are five-kilometer run or one-mile walk. Many door prizes available from JRC. Ongoing/Meetings

Raincountry Flyfishers monthly meeting: Meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Floyd Dryden Middle School library. Jon Lyman will demonstrate trout flies. Materials will be provided. Info: Brent Pristas, 586-1454.

Juneau-Douglas High School International Auction: A benefit for the school's volleyball team, cheerleaders and world language program. Meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the high school commons to preview the auction items and bid on silent auction items. International smorgasboard available for $7 from 5-6 p.m., then regular auction starts at 6 p.m. Auction itself is free. Door prizes available. Info: Sandi Wagner, 463-1916.

Lindh Ski Pass Scholarship deadline: The deadline for the Hilary Lindh Olympic Medal Season Ski Pass Scholarship Program is Friday, Dec. 8, at the Eaglecrest Ski Area Business Office downtown. This scholarship program, which honors 1992 Olympic silver medalist Hilary Lindh of Juneau, awards two season passes to a deserving boy and girl from grades K-12 in Juneau. Applications are available at local schools, local ski shops, from the Juneau Ski Club and from Eaglecrest. Info: Gary Mendivil, 586-5284.

Avalanche awareness classes: Upcoming avalanche awareness classes from the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center are Juneau Level I, Dec. 26-29 and Jan. 12-15; Juneau Level II, March 2-5; and Juneau Snowmachine, Jan. 5 classroom and Jan. 6-7 in the field. Mini-workshops for snowmachiners are Haines Snowmachine/Level I, March 16-18, and Petersburg Snowmachine/Level I, Feb. 2-4. Special snowmachiner discount this year. Info: Bill Glude, 586-5606.

Open Gyms

Youth open gyms: Saturdays (12/2 and 12/9) from 8-11 p.m. at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, and Fridays (12/1 and 12/8) from 8-11 p.m. (starts 8:30 p.m. on 12/1 only) at Floyd Dryden Middle School. No cost for students grades 5-12. Adult volleyball/basketball open gyms, at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School: Cost is $4. Sundays (12/3 and 12/10) and Fridays (12/1 and 12/8), from 7-9 p.m. Also on Mondays (12/4 and 12/11) from 8-10 p.m. Volleyball/basketball court rentals available Saturday mornings.
