Longtime Juneau resident, Melissa Athena Rogers, 31, died Nov. 24, 2004, at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1973, in Flagstaff, Ariz., to James and Maria Rogers. She attended the Franciscan University in Ohio, Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans and the University of Alaska Southeast.
She was a child care provider and mother. She loved children and animals and took many of them in to take care of them and love. Her family said she had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for life.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Grant; sisters, Michelle Rogers and Faith Rogers of Juneau; parents, James and Maria Rogers; niece and nephews, Zeriah, Denali and Harmony Wentz and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral of the Nativity.
