ANCHORAGE - A Whittier facility has resumed fuel transfer operations after being ordered to temporarily shut down.
On Wednesday, the Coast Guard said Shoreside Petroleum Inc.'s mobile facility had failed an inspection.
The annual inspection ensures compliance by the petroleum industry with the regulations for transporting and transferring fuel.
The Coast Guard found that necessary documentation was not current, there was no response drill program in place, and the facility lacked a response plan.
By Thursday morning, the company was back in business in time for the arrival of the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry Aurora.
