JUNEAU - Two teenage boys were arrested Friday morning and charged with assault after a witness reported them shooting a BB gun from a car in the Lemon Creek area.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

Police seized a Daisy BB gun from the front seat of a black Ford Mustang after they determined it had been fired by two boys, ages 15 and 16, from inside the vehicle.

One of the boys shot the gun at a juvenile boy who was walking in the area, police said.

Two teenage girls who were in the car were not involved in the incident and were released, police said.

The boys were charged with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and the 16-year-old driver was charged with driving without a license.

The 15-year-old boy was additionally charged with felony misconduct involving a controlled substance after he was found to be in possession of metal knuckles and a controlled substance.

The boys were lodged at the Johnson Youth Center. Police did not release their names.
