FAIRBANKS - Police say two men who attempted to rob a Fairbanks home were instead beat up by their would-be victims.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the two men, ages 21 and 19, had what appeared to be a gun and a metal pry bar when they threatened the residents of the home they were targeting.
Fairbanks police Lt. Tara Tippett said the gun turned out to be a BB gun. The home's residents overpowered the two men until police got there.
The intruders told police they were trying steal marijuana plants. Police didn't find any plants. Tippett said none of the three residents from the home face assault charges.
