ANCHORAGE - This month is the wettest November in Anchorage since record-keeping began in 1917.
The National Weather Service says the record was broken in the snow Sunday when the precipitation total broke the previous record of 2.84 inches set in 1976.
The Anchorage Daily News reports the measurement includes rain and the water from melted snow.
More than 20 inches of snow has fallen this month in Anchorage - close to twice the average. The city also had freezing rain early in the month.
Forecaster predict a colder-than-normal winter in Anchorage because of the La Nina climate effect.
