... for Lighthouse volunteers
On Sunday, Nov. 26, a core group of volunteers gathered to view an early release of the PBS Lighthouse series that was filmed this summer. The group then made Gingerbread Lighthouses that will be for sale at the Spears Pin Shop next to the Alaskan Hotel during Gallery Walk. Special-order lighthouses will be made up until Christmas Eve. There will also be hand-painted ornaments as well as Pine Swags (a bunch wreath) decorated with fresh holly and velvet ribbons. It will be a great time to sign up for the volunteer Spring clean-up and Summer 2001 paint party. We all agree that the best part of restoring this Lighthouse is the friends we have made along the way. We would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Jody at Kmart, Doug Ward from Dolphin Jet Boat Tours, the Juneau Empire, Costco, Carrs, Heritage Coffee, Taku Smokeries, Carolyn Zelle and her fabulous PBS film crew, and the many wonderful volunteers that keep the energy flowing, the restoration rolling and the light glowing in Stephens Passage. Merry Christmas from Five Finger Lighthouse.
