In response to the critical comment about the special ed program at Harborview, I have a son in special ed in Harborview and I have nothing but admiration for the special ed staff, which has my child doing things he otherwise never would have done.
I had two kids in special ed in Harborview and still have one that goes there now. There's two teachers there who are great.
Glass and cans can be dropped off from 8 till 5 Wednesday and Saturday at the recycling center in Lemon Creek. Turn on Tonsgard Court and look for the signs.
Is Juneau too small to support a physician with cardiology credentials?
As a concerned Sealaska shareholder, I'd like Sealaska to justify giving shareholders $2 a share while the president gets a $36,000 bonus.
It's been 30 years since our personal assets have been invested in Sealaska and in 30 years they can't get a return on our assets. This goes to show who benefited from the Land Claims Act. It sure wasn't the common shareholders. It was those who have a stranglehold on the corporation.
I'm tired of the teens of Juneau being blamed for the speeding problem. I see plenty of adults going faster than teens.
For Juneau-Douglas Boxing Club to promote their boxing event at the ANB Hall is right on. For them to promote alcohol is a different story. That money goes back into the JDBC and goes to other charitable events like kids' volleyball, basketball, football and boxing. We have junior amateur boxers who went to Fairbanks and are undefeated.
I can't believe how biased you guys in the media are toward the Democrats. Sen. Elton's seat on Senate Finance is being shown as "Elton wins powerful seat" where Rep. Bill Hudson got very little credit for having a House Finance seat.
Elton's committee appointment was reported under a two-column headline on Thursday. Hudson's committee appointment was reported under a six-column headline that ran completely across the front page of the Empire on Nov. 10. The Elton story included 3 1/2 paragraphs on page one. The Hudson story, "Hudson wins spot on House Finance," included 9 1/2 paragraphs on page one. - Editor
