Woman accused of intentionally hitting pedestrian

ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage woman accused of intentionally hitting a pedestrian with a stolen vehicle has been arrested and jailed.

Twenty-one-year-old Jane Tukrook was arrested early Sunday morning. She faces a variety of charges including assault, driving under the influence and vehicle theft.

Tukrook was arrested after police responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision outside the Gaslight Lounge in downtown Anchorage. One of the drivers, 30-year-old Benjamin Brady of Anchorage, also was charged with assault and driving while under the influence.

Tukrook is accused of stealing Brady's Cadillac Escalade when he got out of his vehicle.

The woman that Tukrook is accused of running over was treated for severe head lacerations at a hospital.
