JUNEAU --Youths fleeing from a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning set off a search for one boy who wasn't accounted for, Juneau police said.
Four boys ran from a vehicle at the Windfall Trailhead near Herbert River at about 2:30 a.m. when police approached, said Officer Steve Christensen.
Temperatures were in the teens. A Good Samaritan picked up three of the youths and drove them into town and later called the police, he said.
Meanwhile, police began to search for the fourth boy. They called in the Alaska State Troopers about 6:15 a.m., troopers said. The boy was located at a friend's house about 11:45 a.m., trooper spokesman Tim DeSpain said.
"It was pretty cold out there last night," Christensen said Saturday. "Our primary concern was to account for the kids, and we able to do that."
No charges had been filed by Saturday afternoon, police said.
