Student Artist in the Spotlight: Andrew Moeser

Grade: 1

School: Juneau Community Charter School

Art of choice: Andrew is a drawer. He likes to start with pencil and then use marker.

Why draw: "Because I like to. I don't know why. I just do."

Favorites: math, the kitty he got for Christmas, the color green, gymnastics and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

Future art plans: He's "gonna try doing better and better and better."

Future plans: He hopes to go cage diving, skydiving and free falling.

Hero: his brother, Jacob

Other activities: He is in the Tlingit dance group, Children of All Nations. They will perform in the 2006 Celebration.

His teacher, Linda Torgerson, says: "Andrew can hardly stop drawing. He enjoys his artwork more than any other part of school. He takes it seriously. With drawing, Andrew does not give up. He persists."
