Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Assaults:
Police arrested a man, 25, for domestic violence assault at 4:09 p.m. Saturday in the Mendenhall Valley area. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Vehicle accidents:
Police cited a man, 25, for failure to maintain a safe distance following a two-vehicle accident at 4:44 p.m. Sunday on Glacier Highway in the Switzer Creek area. A 1998 Dodge Dakota, driven by the man who was cited, struck a 1997 Ford Escort, driven by a man, 74. The Escort sustained $3,000 in damage and the Dakota sustained $1,000.
Police cited a driver for a speed violation after the driver's 1982 Chevrolet hit a walk/don't walk signpost at 10:25 p.m. Sunday at 10th Street and Egan Drive. The Chevrolet sustained $400 damage while damage to the sign was negligible.
Animal encounters:
A bear was reported getting into a garbage can at 2:23 a.m. today near Glacier Highway and Lemon Creek. A copy of the incident was forwarded to city litter control officials.
Other:
Police arrested a man, 37, for a domestic-violence violation at 10:40 a.m. Sunday in the Mendenhall Valley area. He was lodged at the state prison.
A man, 43, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 11:45 p.m. Sunday near Seventh Street downtown.
