Rice, Shaw to marry in January ceremony

Brita Rice and Albert Shaw of Juneau will be married at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at St. Brendan's Episcopal Church, 4207 Mendenhall Loop Road. A reception will follow at the Macaulay Hatchery (DIPAC).

The bride is the daughter of Bobbie Rice and Robert Rice (deceased). She is a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School (and more) and is employed with the Department of Education and Early Development.

The groom is the son of Katherine Shaw and George F. Shaw (deceased). He is a graduate of JDHS (and more) and is currently a "ski bum."

The couple will be attended at their wedding by their children, Karl and Robert Shaw and Johanna and Brent Vollenweider. All friends of the couple are invited. The only invitation being sent locally is this announcement. No gifts please; this is a merging of two condos.

The couple will spend their honeymoon this April in Paris and London, and will make their home in Juneau.

Weir, George to wed at Northern Light United Church

Heather M. Weir and Russell C. George of Juneau will marry in a ceremony at 2 p.m., January 10, 2004, at Northern Light United Church. A reception will follow at 3 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 8335 Old Dairy Rd.

The bride-elect is the daughter of William R. Weir and Mary Lucille Weir (deceased). She is a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School and is employed as a customer service representative for First National Bank of Alaska.

The groom-elect is the son of Albert E. George (deceased) and Nancy P. George (deceased). He is a graduate of Benson Union High School in Arizona, and is retired from the Juneau Police Department.

The matron of honor will be April Jackson. Bridesmaids will be Rhonda George and Melody Morris, and flower girls will be Sylina Jackson and Clarissa Peratrovich.

The best man will be John Hansen. Groomsmen will be Karl George and Doug George.

The couple will make their home in Juneau.
