SAIL, First Bank to hold informational breakfast

JUNEAU - Southeast Alaska Independent Living and First Bank invites the public to a free continental breakfast and informational seminar at 10 a.m. Friday at the SAIL Office, 3225 Hospital Drive, Suite 300. The program will share programs available to seniors and persons with disabilities and their homes with the assistance from Alaska Housing Finance Corp., Rural Cap and Alaska CDC, programs designed to help Alaskans reduce energy costs.

The Weatherization Program is available to Alaska's homeowners and renters with low-to-moderate household income. Qualified participants can receive weatherization upgrades at no cost.

The Home Energy Rebate Program is available for homeowners who want to make their own home energy efficiency improvements to receive a rebate for some or all of their expenditures. Home energy ratings are required. There are no income requirements.

The Senior Housing Accessibility Modifications Program provides, at no cost, funds to allow senior citizens (those older than 55 years of age) to make accessibility modifications to their homes, thereby extending their ability to live independently in the community.

For more information on these three programs, contact SAIL at 586-4920.
