Posted: Friday, December 03, 2010

ANCHORAGE - A teleconference meeting with SnowTRAC is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 10.

The group will meet in the Atwood Building, suite 1380, to discuss various SnowTRAC issues including a proposed registration fee increase and statewide snowmobile safety program. Contact Andre Kaeppele at (907) 269-8692, if you would like to participate in this meeting.

SnowTRAC consists of 10 members that are regionally selected from areas across Alaska. The primary purpose of the group is to advise the DPOR director on funding for eligible grant projects under the Snowmobile Trail Grant Program. The Snowmobile Trail Grant Program is funded through legislative authorization to receive funds from snowmobile point-of-sale registration fees. These funds are used to support snowmobile trail development and maintenance, as well as snowmobile safety and education programs.
